ForeFront Day 2021!
An annual tradition for our Team, ForeFront Day is a celebratory event across our U.S. and European locations. It’s a highly anticipated and rewarding opportunity to strengthen our Esprit de Corps and company culture, challenge ourselves in fun ways, and give back.
This year’s event theme, “FRUG Week” (ForeFront Remote User Group), gave our Team the option to join in-person or virtually for a week of refreshing camaraderie. The festivities safely brought in many who were eager to explore our NJ campus for the first time – filling our offices with an electric energy!
The stage was set for collaboration and competition from the beginning as everyone was assigned an event-week Team. This encouraged interaction beyond people’s usual circles – and working together towards points for a grand prize raffle! Teams were ready to roll after a DISC (our favorite personality assessment!) training session on various communication styles.
A key driver throughout FRUG Week was a fun photo scavenger hunt! With a checklist of 100+ items, the Teams hunted down as many as they could. They performed dance battles, recreated famous art, showed off random items, visited the Navesink river and more. Check out a collage of the submissions in the gallery below!
Each day also provided a unique opportunity to build connections. On “Motivational” Monday, Team members shared personal anecdotes of advice, uplifting quotes from TV and movies, educational book recommendations and more. On “Talkabout it” Tuesday, Team members initiated conversations over their ForeFront experiences and learned a bit more about each other. “Social Hour” Wednesday, “Spirit Week” Thursday, and “Pay it Forward” Friday anchored the remaining days.
On Wednesday night, the Team was escorted to Sea Bright for delicious dinner & drinks via trolley ride! Local views and history were enjoyed on the scenic route along the Jersey Shore. The ride even included a pit-stop at Mount Mitchill, the highest point of elevation in New Jersey, for beautiful views of the New York City skyline at sunset. Upon arrival to the outdoor patio of Rory’s Pub, Team ForeFront was ready for a chill night of conversation, music, and food… puppy petting, too!
By Thursday, our official “ForeFront Day”, Team spirit and competitive vibes were sky high. Both in-person and remote attendees showed up in their best ForeFront gear for our traditional Team games! First up was a classic: ForeFront trivia, a test of the Teams’ ForeFront history knowledge. In a following round of cultural trivia, Teams rushed against the clock to name as many countries and identify as many Olympic logos as possible. For the main events, our Teams battled in head-to-head challenges of Red Solo Cup games. “Movin’ On Up” was a challenge of dexterity and speed, while “Stack Attack” required swiftness and a steady hand. Cheering and laughter grew through close matches and falling cup towers.
We gathered in the aftermath of our games to reminisce and reflect on the week the best way we know how – Team Lunch! Tasty meals were catered by No Limits Café, a local restaurant employing adults with intellectual disabilities. Tradition and community are always a cornerstone of ForeFront Day, in addition to the fun. This year’s events brought the Team together and boosted our company culture across the board for a successful celebration!
